Many of our new patients are curious about what to expect during their first appointment. Typically, the initial appointment begins with a comprehensive Hearing Interview. We will discuss what kinds of problems you may be having and if you are currently trying anything to treat them. This interview helps us understand each person's history and is useful in directing the rest of the testing and treatment.
The next portion is the Hearing Evaluation. The types of tests will be specific to your symptoms and condition. We test for hearing loss, sound sensitivity, and general hearing.
After the testing and evaluation, we will share our initial diagnosis and discuss treatment options. We conduct a decision-making session where we discuss your results and how you can reduce your symptoms and increase your quality of life. Some decisions may include therapy, hearing aids, or other methods of treatment.
